Type of Position : One-year replacement, Unionized
Workplace : Sept-Iles
Salary : Between $ 29 and $ 39 / hour
Schedule : 5/2, According to the needs of the organization
Probation : 480 worked hours
Under the supervision of the Sept-Îles Station Supervisor, the incumbent inspects railway equipment. Ensures compliance of Transport Canada regulations. He also performs brake tests and maintains and repairs structural and mechanical components of passenger and freight rail cars. As needed, the incumbent will be required to perform related duties in the Operations Department (Freight) to support the existing team.

Requirements
- Possess mechanical aptitudes;
- Have a valid Class 5 driving licence;
- Ability to work outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions ;
- Attend training and qualify as a carman ;
- Required to travel on Tshiuetin Rail Transportation line when required to perform repairs and testing of rail cars ; and
- Have experience in the railway industry (an asset);
- Possess basic computer and inventory management skills;
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence; and
- Be fluent in both French and English (an asset).

- Possess ability to read a plan / schematic drawing (an asset).
- Be independent and resourceful; and
- Demonstrates discipline and reliability.
