Summary description
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and repairing motorized rolling stock, in accordance with original manufacturing instructions, using hand tools and electrical test equipment. He/she will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rolling stock, including passenger train cars. He will also be responsible for the installation, replacement and repair of electrical equipment, components and some generators.
Profile required
Studies
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in diesel mechanics or other relevant training and/or related work experience.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the railway industry (an asset);
- Basic computer and inventory management skills;
- Fluency in French and English (an asset);
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; and
- Ability to work outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions;
Skills required
- Respect safety regulations and standards;
- Be able to read hydraulic and/or electrical plans (an asset);
- Be able to perform welding and flame cutting; and
- Be autonomous and resourceful, able to work alone;
